Holy cow, we have a couple of half year olds! Where is the time going?? They have been doing awesome lately. They spend 3 days a week with their daddy and two days a week at grandma daycare. They love to play with toys, roll around, and sit up to look at stuff (with help). Valentina is 17 lbs and Zoe is 16 lbs. They are getting heavy! It's too hard for me to carry both of them in their car seats at once!
The solid foods have not been well received so far. Most of the time they make faces like we're feeding them dirt, and spit most of it out. We've tried lots of different fruits and veggies. We also are trying to get them used to drinking from sippy cups! We've got a regular sippy cup and one with a straw. Sometimes Valentina does great with the straw, and other times she just plays with it. It's exciting that they're finally old enough to take sustenance besides mother's milk!
I still pump like, all the time. I can't wait till I can stop. It's super inconvenient. Sometimes my friends talk about going camping or spending the day on the river or something, and those types of activities are almost impossible for me when I need to pump so often. I think about stopping all the time and just feeding them formula, but I've come this far and I can't bring myself to do it.
I've accepted a new job offer! I'm very excited for it, I'll be a QA Engineer in charge of developing automated tests for some web applications. I'm leaving my current company because I really hate having to go on call. I had a couple of really bad nights this past week where I got tons of alerts all night and hardly any sleep. I can't take it! And it sucks so much when I have two little babies to take care of. My new job does not require on call, and I'll even get a bit of a salary boost. Seems silly to decline!
