8 Month Olds!

34 weeks and a few days sine they were born. That means they've been "outside babies" for as long as they were "inside babies"! We are just having a ball here at the Graham house. The babies are just so much fun! Valentina has been clapping her hands, especially when you sink the patty-cake song, and Zoe gets up on all fours like she's about to launch into full-scale crawl mode. They find everything interesting, and are getting more and more mobile all the time. They are really good at sitting now, and love to practice standing (with help).

They try lots of different foods, and even eat some finger foods! We've given them the baby "puffs" that are like cheerios, those biscuit things, cut up pears, and even shredded cheese! Their hand to mouth coordination needs some improvement, a lot of food does not make it in!

Only 4 more months of pumping until I reach my one year goal! I can't wait to be done!

I'm pretty much totally recovered from my pregnancy except my belly area is still not toned at all, and I'm pretty sure my navel will never look the same again. I know yoga would help immensely if I could ever make it to class! On the bright side, the few stretch marks I have are hardly noticeable, and I've been back to my pre-pregnancy weight for a while now.

John is such a great (partial) stay at home dad. He does so much stuff while I'm at work. His only job is to make sure the babies survive the day, but he normally ends up doing a bunch of chores and gets dinner ready too. I'm so lucky! Maybe someday we can trade places and I'll get to stay home. I really do love being able to support my family though, it's very rewarding.

One exciting thing is that we're finally buying a bigger house! I can't wait! We should be closing by the end of the month. It has 4 bedrooms and two living rooms so we'll have room for all the kid's stuff! No more tripping on baby toys and furniture all the time! AND Sophie dog gets a backyard, plus there's a swimming pool (with a fence!) and it's in a nicer neighborhood. It's going to be SO nice to have more space! It is an older house, however, so we're expecting to have a few projects/repairs once we move in. Glad John is a good handy man :)

It will be slightly sad to move out of my little townhouse though, I have such fond memories of it. There were roommates, parties, movie nights, drinking nights, cooking projects, art projects, Sophie adoption, pre-marriage with John, post-marriage with John, pregnancy discovery, baby gestation, and the first part of motherhood at this home. I'm quite attached. Once bit of comfort is that we'll not be selling it, we'll rent it out for supplemental income. So our former home will not be gone from our lives.

The lovely Valentina

My darling Zoe
