Marriage at Sea!

I’m so happy to announce that I’m now a married woman!! And our wedding was AWESOME. In fact, we were married at sea, and got to visit two new countries! Quite an adventure if you ask me!

I’ll tell you a little about the wedding, because it was really sweet. The day before the wedding, John gave to me my new wedding ring! It’s just beautiful, and he had it custom made for me. The top is a lotus flower with a pure white pearl in the center, and the band in in the shape of leaves. The reason he chose a lotus flower is because it’s has a lot of symbolism in Buddhism (and Hinduism), parts of which I try to follow. In fact, the symbolism behind the lotus flower is very lovely to me, and I just love the ring!!

The wedding itself was quite simple. I got dressed and ready, and the wedding coordinator escorted my dad and I to the location on the ship where we would be married. It was in the aft portion of the ship with windows all around. We had a total panoramic view of the ocean at sunset! I was handed a bouquet, a pianist provided the music, and my dad walked me down the aisle. The captain of the ship read some stuff about love, had us recite our vows, and pronounced us married. Then our family members gave us some really lovely champaign toasts. We cut the cake, and then did some photos with the photographer. Dinner with the family that night was fantastic, and there was a bottle of chilled champaign, chocolate covered strawberries, and scattered rose petals in our suite when we finally returned. Inexpensive, elegant, unique, and just the way we wanted it.

So far, married life has been great. We make each other breakfast in the morning, the holidays have been wonderful, and we don't get into any arguments or anything. We admin when we're wrong and say we're sorry when needed. Just this morning I couldn't help but to think how blessed I am! I have no complaints so far!
