Halloween Fun!

We had a really great 2nd Halloween with the girls this year. Since I waited till the last minute to get the costumes, Amazon was sold out of the Star Wars themed toddler costumes I originally planned on, so we went with Star Trek instead! I was Captain Janeway (who is one of my favorite sci-fi characters of all time!) John was Commander Riker, Zoe and Val were Spock and Captain Kirk. The costumes looked great!

We also got to go trick-or-treaking with them for the first time now that they are capable of walking while holding a treat bucket. We only went to a few houses, and the girls had very different reactions to the experience! Zoe pretty much was having a jolly old time getting candy from strangers, but Val did not like it at all at first. She wanted no part in going to strange houses! We finally came to several in a row where nice old ladies were sitting in their driveways with candy, and Val finally got the nerve to investigate. By the end, she seemed like she wanted to keep going!

So far they very much love Halloween candy. We've been allowing once piece per kid each day (which will only last for about a week since we went to so few houses). It's actually starting to be a problem because they've started demanding "more more!" after they've each had their piece.

Yeah, the tantrums have not been super fun. Probably there's at least one or two major meltdowns from each twin every day. It can be pretty horrible when they're both doing one at the same time! Makes me want to join in the crying and screaming myself!

Other fun things from the past week: lots of walks, time at parks, eating pomegranate seeds, library time.

I think it might be getting a little easier being a stay at home mom, but then again, it's only Monday so we'll see how this week turns out.
